Cassia angustifolia is the main ingredient of most laxative preparations. it popularly known as senna, is a valuable plant drug in ayurvedic and modern system of medicine for the treatment of constipation. The pods and leaves of senna as well as the pharmaceutical preparations containing sennosides A and B are widely used in medicine because of their laxative properties. In medicinal herbs, it is used for antibacterial, hemorrhoids, constipation, abdominal pain and vomiting.
